Have you been dreaming about spreading your wings and learning to fly? Hub City Aviation is able to take you there. Thank you for visiting our site and taking an interest in our flight programs.
Below you will find information that will make your decision to take flight training easier to get “Cleared for Takeoff.”
What can I expect during flight training?
The same variables that affect the cost of learning to fly will affect the time it takes to earn your certificate. The FAA has established the minimum number of flight hours needed to obtain a certificate. Under Part 61 of the federal aviation regulations, the minimums are 40 hours for a private pilot certificate. However, we believe that a true average flight training time for a private pilot is between 50 hours and 60 hours; completion times of 60 to 70 hours are not uncommon. These flight hours can be spread over a time span of several months to a year or more. We find that the frequency of training and student preparation outside of class a large factors in the time and cost of the training.
There are a lot of variables that affect the cost of learning to fly, including the frequency of flight lessons, weather conditions, the kind of aircraft in which you are training and its availability for scheduling, and individual aptitude. A rough estimate would range between $8,000 and $10,000, depending on the certificate being sought.
Hub City Aviation has a rolling admission policy. That means we can admit students at any time. However, new students are encouraged to schedule a introductory flight that will allow you to learn what flight lessons will be like. Complete all the required paperwork and meet with instructors to gain a personalized plan for your training.
Call Hub City Aviation at 806-687-1070 or come by the school. We are located at the Lubbock International Airport.
